  1. So, have you ever thought of running for elected public office? . . . you can, but how do you begin? Before you make an announcement, you must examine your motives. You can save yourself a lot of heartbreak by doing so. You must enjoy teamwork, you must have the consuming drive necessary for door-to-door campaigning for hours and days on end; you must be willing to live in a fishbowl with your entire life, past and present, open for inspection to all, you must be willing to attend endless fundraisers, make appearances, give speeches, smile when you don’t feel like it, be nice to people you don’t really want to be nice to. You must be able to attract supporters willing to work on your campaign, doing hours of such types of work as addressing and stuffing envelopes, finding locations for and putting up and taking down lawn signs, running from house to house for literature drops and spending countless hours on the phone at the phone bank asking for votes and money. You also need to study up on the issues. You will run into people that have very different opinions than yours and come out of the conversation with their vote . . . do you think you can do that? This blog site is a perfect place to practice. . . .

  2. There are so many issues and people to comment on such as:
    the 2020 candidates and their main issues:
    Joe Biden and is he going to run and is he too old
    Elizabeth Warren and her new 7% corporate tax plan
    Kamala Harris and her death penalty stand
    Bernie Sanders and the fact that he refuses to become a Democrat
    Pete Buttigieg and his sparing with Mike Pence regarding sexual identity
    Cory Booker, Amy Klobuchar, Kirsten Gillibrand, Julian Castro, Tulsi Gabbard, John Delany, Jay Inslee,
    John Hickenlooper, Wayne Messam, Beto O’Rourke, Tim Ryan, Eric Swalwell and William Weld.
    And there are more issues than you can count:
    * child separation at the southern border
    * the wall
    * climate change
    * the Mueller Report
    * the Russian interference in the 2016 election
    * social security, medicare, Medicaid
    * health care and pre-existing conditions
    * drug prices
    * opioid crisis
    * veterans issues
    * electoral college
    * student loans
    * immigration
    * influence of the media
    * medicare for all
    * the state of our union
    * voter participation and gerrymandering
    These are just a few. . . what is your biggest burning issue?
